Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Architect (m/w/d) to join our team on a freelance/contractor basis. As a Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud solutions that align with our business objectives. This role offers the flexibility to work onsite, remotely, or in a hybrid model, with a full-time workload dedicated to driving cloud transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Architecture Design: Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure cloud architectures across multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) tailored to meet organizational requirements.
- Cloud Strategy & Roadmap: Define cloud strategy, adoption roadmap, and best practices to support enterprise-level transformation and modernization projects.
- Solution Implementation: Lead the implementation of cloud solutions, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) deployments.
- Migration & Integration: Plan and execute cloud migration strategies, ensuring seamless integration of applications, data, and workloads.
- Security & Compliance: Establish security frameworks, compliance controls, and governance models to protect cloud assets and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Optimization: Optimize cloud resources for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, implementing automation, monitoring, and management tools.
- Collaboration: Work closely with DevOps, development, and infrastructure teams to ensure successful cloud deployment and operation.
- Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for cloud architectures, design patterns, and implementation guidelines.
Requirements:
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Cloud Architect with hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions.
- Cloud Expertise: Deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Strong proficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
- Networking & Security: In-depth knowledge of cloud networking, security best practices, identity management, and encryption techniques.
- Containerization: Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and container orchestration platforms.
- DevOps & CI/CD: Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
- Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Certifications (preferred): Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect).
Soft Skills:

- Communication: Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken German and English, capable of translating complex technical concepts to stakeholders.
