Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced OpenShift Developer (m/w/d) to join our team on a freelance/contract basis. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in OpenShift container platform technologies and be adept at designing, implementing, and maintaining containerized applications in an enterprise environment. This role offers the flexibility to work onsite, remotely, or in a hybrid model, providing full-time engagement with cutting-edge projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Development: Develop and deploy scalable, containerized applications on OpenShift, ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability.
- Implementation: Implement OpenShift platform configurations, workflows, and services, including CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging solutions.
- Customization & Integration: Customize OpenShift clusters, deploy operators, and integrate third-party tools to enhance platform capabilities.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with DevOps, infrastructure, and application teams to design and implement container solutions that meet business requirements.
- Automation & Scripting: Develop automation scripts using Ansible, Helm, Jenkins, or other tools to streamline OpenShift deployments and updates.
- Troubleshooting & Optimization: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize OpenShift clusters and application performance, ensuring robust and efficient operations.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for OpenShift deployments, configurations, and best practices.
Requirements:
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with OpenShift and Kubernetes in a production environment.
- Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in container technologies (Docker, CRI-O), container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift), and cloud-native development.
- Scripting & Automation: Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python) and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins).
- CI/CD Knowledge: Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Tekton.
- Networking & Security: In-depth understanding of container networking, security policies, RBAC, and troubleshooting.
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and integrating OpenShift in cloud environments.
- DevOps & Agile: Familiarity with DevOps practices, Agile methodologies, and infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.
- Certifications (preferred): OpenShift, Kubernetes, or cloud certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Application Development).
Soft Skills:
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken German and English, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
