unternehmensdaten.at is a modern digital platform for quick, free access to company data from the Austrian business register. The project aimed to promote economic transparency, simplify access to commercial-law information, and provide an easy-to-use research interface.
At its core is a powerful, intuitive company search that lets users find 500,000+ registered Austrian companies by name or register number. The platform prepares publicly available register data in user-friendly, structured company profiles including linked annual reports, management and authorised representatives, register number and business description, and legal form and registered office.
A key feature is immediate access to more than 1.2 million documents such as balance sheets and annual reports sourced directly from the business register — enabling informed assessment of company history, financial stability, and business relevance.
The platform was built to be legally sound, resource-efficient, and low-maintenance, with a clear interface, performant database queries, and high availability. No registration is required — research is available around the clock at no cost.
